Delmar- Francis H. "Frank" Daley, 80, died Friday July 28, 2017 at home under the loving care of his wife and daughter Karen and son Frank Jr. Born in Albany, he was the son of Harold and Hazel (McChesney) Daley, He graduated from Bethlehem Central High School. Frank worked for the Bethlehem Central School System for 22 years retiring in 1999 as head custodian at the Bethlehem Middle School. Frank always put students first above everything else and was so respectful of them. He received the school citizenship award in 1995. He was a "Gentleman and a Teacher". He previously worked for Gentil's Floor covering as a mechanic for 18 years. He was a communicate of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He loved fishing and golfing, but most of all the camaraderie with the guys. He loved feeding and watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks in the yard. Frank will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit which he maintained during his illness to the end. Frank will be missed by all who knew him. He was one of a kind.
Frank is survived by his wife of 51 years Catherine (DePuccio) Daley, his son Frank Jr. (Lidia) of Glenmont, daughters Karen Flood of Massachusetts, Gaile Daley of Georgia, Lauren Jacquez of Texas, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cherished granddogs Sierra and Sonoma, sister Ruth Williamson, Dorothea (Carl) Peragine. He is predeceased by brothers Robert Daley, Harry Johnson, Jack Johnson, sister Marion Sloger, Lois Pupchek and Shirley Sweetser.
A Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, August 1, 2017 at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Relatives are invited to visitation in the church chapel from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery , Glenmont.
