Ruth C. Navratil Friday, December 14, 1934 - Friday, June 9, 2017

Ruth C. Navratil of Delmar, NY passed away on June 9, 2017.  She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.  Ruth was born in Detroit, MI in 1930 to Clara and R. O. Kauer.  After attending Wayne State University she forewent a career in music education to raise her two surviving daughters, Vicki (Dennis R. Kosovac), of Hudson and Amy Ciccone (Lawrence) of Los Angeles. Ruth subsequently held an executive role for 25 years at a major supermarket chain from which position she retired.

Upon retiring Ruth moved to Delmar, where her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who survive her, Kayla Kosovac, now of Tokyo, Japan and D. Steven Kosovac of Cambridge, MA.  Ruth was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, The Jubilate Singers and Delmar Progress Club and volunteered often in her community.  All who  knew her appreciated her thoughtfulness and generosity.  Her family and friends will profoundly miss her.

Her sister, Helen Veach of Port Huron, MI, also survives Ruth.  Her former husband, Gerald R. Navratil, predeceased her.

A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Wed., June 21st at 10:00 am.  Family will receive guests an hour prior to the service.  Donations may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar, NY 12054

Ruth's Family,

I offer you my prayers and sympathy on Ruth's passing. I am a Hospice volunteer and Have been visiting Ruth at BC. What a delightful lady! It was a joy to be with her and discuss Delmar. St. Paul tells us that  "Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the mind of man to imagine the glory of heaven." Ruth now experiences that wonder!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sister Mary Frederick

Friday visitor for Hospice
